EVERY DAY OUGHT TO BE A SPECIAL ONE for our Kids. And this coming Sunday the West Australian Off Road Racing Association is making sure February 16 really is special at Gidgiegannup.
It’s open to the public and starts 7am at Noble Falls Motorcross Track, located at the corner of Toodyay Road and Aspen Road in the Gidgie community – just 40km northeast of Perth.
The club is still in need of helmets (Auto/Snell/FIA/SFI), and volunteers. So if your kids have approved helmets make sure to bring them along.
Please call Blake Pugh 0403 579849, Danni Joyce 0450907021 or Chris Hill 0429200011 if you can help in any way.
WAORRA is the oldest established off-road racing club in Western Australia, with around 150 members – all enthusiastic off-road endurance racers.
The club originated in the ’70s when a bunch of mates used to go coastal dune racing in Lancelin, north of Perth.
Members now generally race on farming properties within a few hours’ drive from the WA capital. Perth. Racers continue to build and develop faster and stronger vehicles.
“Off-road racing tests the drivers, co-drivers, navigators and their vehicles over different track conditions, usually consisting of mud and creek crossings, gravel pits, open paddocks, tight bush tracks, long sandy straights, with some very rough terrain sections thrown in just for good measure.”www.waorra.com
Most races are held over two days, with the lap distance varying from 25-50kms in length and totalling anywhere between 200kms to 500kms each race!
