Resurrection required for Oscar?

Snow in Las Vegas? Surely Not!
MCLAREN’S LANDO NORRIS is driving with an incredible amount of confidence and he’s not allowing the frequent mistakes of the past creep in. It’s hard to find fault in anything he’s done in recent on-track sessions.
Meanwhile Aussie teammate Oscar Piastri has not won a race since the Dutch Grand Prix in August – nor has he finished in the top three!
Right now, Oscar has just the triple-header of Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi’s magnificent Yas Marina circuit to go in the 2025 F1 Championship battle.
It’s been a disappointing run of form that now sees Oscar 24 points behind his teammate and title rival In Las Vegas.
Both Lando and Oscar have been evenly matched across the F1 2025 season with each collecting seven victories apiece behind the wheel of the dominant MCL39 car.
But Lando has fast established a clear advantage over recent weeks, culminating in a classy win last up in the Brazilian Grand Prix which saw the Brit’s points lead over the Aussie increase dramatically.
And one should never discount Red Bull’s ace Max Verstappen!
Who will be 2025 F1 World Champion?

The premier motorsport series landed on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip earlier this week as Lando looks to take a step closer to his first drivers’ championship title.
And it will require a veritable resurrection for Oscar to finish ahead of the field and revive his title hopes, after qualifying 5th!
By the way, free practice in Las Vegas on Friday was marred by drain-cover dramas requiring maintenance, seriously cutting short the time allowed on track.
Do you think Oscar can do it? Yesss, I hear you cry!
And I’m with you all the way.
Las Vegas snow forecast goes viral!

One thing title rivals Lando, Oscar and Max Verstappen and the F1 company could not expect to contend with this weekend in the Nevada desert is snow.
But thanks to social media, that narrative was very much alive earlier this week.
Remember, winter’s fast approaching in the Nevada Desert and the Las Vegas Grand Prix is scheduled for 10pm local time (midday Sunday in Perth) with forecast temperature of 9 degrees, and dropping.
What a $20,000 Las Vegas paddock club ticket gets you
While the Las Vegas Grand Prix has attempted to make its ticket prices more affordable in recent years, there are still eyewatering packages available including a F1 paddock club ticket that costs a smidgeon under $20,000 Aussie.
According to F1 Experiences, a paddock club ticket at the Las Vegas GP buys you a three-day ticket, which includes an all-inclusive premium food & beverage menu, exclusive pit lane walk and paddock tour and access to the main stage where live entertainment will take place across the weekend.
And One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson is performing this weekend.
(OK I don’t know who he is, either!)
Rooftop ice rink and Trackside Tavern
To top it all off, on the roof of the Paddock Club there is a rooftop ice rink, named the Las Vegas Skate Circuit, which will certainly be cold enough to use this year with temperatures set to plummet as we head further into the Las Vegas GP weekend.
It was the burger chain’s fault
And this week an Australian burger chain has apologised for putting a “curse” on McLaren driver Oscar Piastri amid his ongoing F1 form slump. Back in August, the Grill’d burger chain offered free burgers for every time Oscar made the podium, but in the five events that have followed since the promotion, the Australian has failed to reach the rostrum. Grill’d apologised on social media to “everyone who believes in the ‘curse’” and has since changed the promotion to when Oscar simply finishes a race. Good luck with that!
