From Con “Mr Speedway Migro

HIS PARENTS call him Benny. But a legion of WA Speedway fans know him as “BIG” Ben – the racing man!

Check out and enjoy the following review of last Saturday’s race event, where the weather was hot and the racing fast and furious.

Don’t forget World Series Sprintcars grand final of the 2016/2017 national series – this Friday Saturday evening at Perth Motorplex, Kwinana Beach.

Greg “The Crew Chief” Migro reports:

HELLO and G’DAY to the worldwide family of Speedway, All.

We travelled to Moora Speedway, two-and-a-half hours north of Perth, to compete in the ninth round of the LSA Club Championship, arriving in red-hot weather, with no wind to cool the venue down.

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks getting the BMMS #79 car ready. Special thanks to Brian, Danny, Paul and the team at Performance Mods and Michael at Briffa Engineering. They’ve done a lot to keep us racing.

Hot Laps All Good

“BIG” Ben Migro took it out for the wheel-packing and hot laps – the car was going along pretty good.

First Race, heat 2 he finished a creditable second, from off near the rear. Then backed it up in heat 3 with a win.

He was tagged at the start of the B Dash, ripping the right-rear radius rod out of the birdcage for the second time in two meetings, but still managed the win.

Front Row for Feature Race

It put “BIG” Ben on the front row for the 25-lap feature race, and the crew thrashed away on the car to get it repaired and ready.

At the fall of the flag Geraldton ace Mick Doble took the win from “BIG” Ben,  with Brett Barndon third.

Our Penrite Racing Oil did the job all night in our engine, while the Moora Speedway Club was great in keeping the surface race-able throughout the evening, after the extreme weather.

“We had a good time”

We had a lot of fun catching up with old racing friends Garry “The Hombre” and Jan Sartori , and Craig “Gunner” Marsland – listening to good fun time’s from days gone by, with a lot of fun stories.

A special “BIG” thank you to BMMS Pit-Crew members Tommy and Graham Gillespie (T&G Pool Services) with a helping hand from Chadd “The Chef” Aitken. We were all really happy with that result!

Thanks to all our valued sponsors and supporters: AJ Cochrane & Sons, RHG Contractors, Taubmans Paints, Motorworld, Parr Motorsport, Empire Graphics, Performance Mods, T&G Pool Services, Briffa Race Engines, Auto One Joondalup, Highway Hauliers, C & R Motorsport development, Eclipse Universal, Acratex Texture.
