Masterplan to Cater for 2, 3 or 4 Wheels

THE FUTURE of the Western Australian Sporting Car Club is looking brighter every day following Friday’s Virgin Australia Supercars gala dinner at Barbagallo Raceway.

On the eve of next weekend’s Perth Supersprint, City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts announced a 10-year collaborative masterplan for the development of the motorsport precinct around Barbagallo Raceway, and land north of Wattle Avenue.

It will be funded jointly by the City, the Department of Sport and Recreation and the WASCC.

It was a big night for all, with pollies of all stripes and business leaders turning up along with WASCC president Russell Sewell and DSR director-general Ron Alexander.

Russell Sewell made it clear that further development of the facility would cater for all motorsport competitors.

It’s a huge feather in the collective cap of the WASCC committee, members of which have been working tirelessly behind the scenes.

And the announcement should keep the ever-present snipers at bay!
