CHAMPION PERTH RACER Jordan Love is settling in to Belgium this week ready for the ultimate spa weekend, 24 hours of endurance racing at the home to one of the most revered ribbons of tarmac on earth – the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, with its 21 corners through 7.004kms of the mighty Ardennes Forest.

The championship event: the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup. His team: the crack German SPS Automotive Performance. Their ride: the superb #40 Mercedes-AMG GT3.

The twice-around-the-clock endurance battle sees Jordan reunited with his Endurance Cup teammates Yannick Mettler and Miklas Born.  Jordan’s Misano buddy Lance David-Arnold completes the line-up. The quartet will fight for honours as part of a record 17-entries in the series Silver class, which forms part of the bumper 60-car grid.

Jordan makes a welcome return to the Belgian circuit as he continues his 2021 season in round 3 of the Endurance Cup series.

He competed here during last season’s Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup campaign.

Spa – the Biggest Race on the GT3 Calendar

“The Spa 24 Hours is the one we’ve been working towards, and it’ll be a real highlight of my racing career to be involved in it.

“I’m really keen to get a result at Spa, not only for me but for SPS Automotive Performance and Mercedes-AMG.

“It’s the biggest race of the GT3 calendar, and the season so far hasn’t delivered the results we’ve been pushing for.

“But I know what we can do as a group, so that just makes me more determined.

Recent test days have proven a great opportunity for Jordan and the SPS team to gain crucial mileage around the extraordinary circuit of Spa.

And getting to grips with the superb Mercedes-AMG around this memorable track, which is unlike anywhere else – the Ardennes Forest is famous (even infamous) for its own microclimate!

“We made some big gains during those sessions, and it took a few laps to build up the confidence to really push, but I’ll be hitting the ground at full pace when we arrive on track.

“I’ve never been more focused heading into a race weekend, and I can’t wait to be back out on track.

“And it’s not just any track.

“It’s Spa-Francorchamps!”
