Huge field for a great race
WA’S PETER MAJOR and JORDAN LOVE are among an international field 175 drivers primed for the Bathurst 12H February 2-4 around Australia’s favorite mountain. The Perth pair, who blazed an indelible trail across the country’s race tracks in 2017, join Adelaide’s JOHN GOODACRE behind the wheel of the spritely #96 Ford Focus V8, prepared by MARC Cars Australia.
“I’m excited to get back up to Bathurst for the 12hr, it’s such a great event with coverage world-wide and so many international teams. Last year I ran my own little team, so there was a lot going on in the lead up and also at the event. This year I’m excited to just get up there and drive. Bathurst is such a demanding track so any laps there a valuable and I’ll be racing there this year as part of the championship I am doing, so it’s important to get the laps in. We finished 3rd in Class B last year and I also had a one-off drive in a Toyota 86 at the Bathurst 1000. After the 3rd in the last race, I’m hoping we can jump up a couple of steps. Teaming up with my good mate Jordan Love again this year, so two WA guys in one car flying the flag. Now that will be fun!” Peter Major.
175 classy drivers in 53 classy rides
Karratha star NICK ROWE – who won the 2017 Australian Formula 4 Championship – shares a MARC Cars Australia Mazda V8 with Tyler Everingham and James Kaye, in the 53-car field at Mount Panorama.
GARTH TANDER #22 and DEAN FIORE #9 will each drive an Audi Sport Customer Racing Audi R8 LMS – Garth with Kelvin Van der Linde and Fredrick Vervisch in the Pro class. Dean will partner Marc Cini and Lee Holdsworth in Pro-Am.
