Opening Event on Saturday

THE CAMS Onslow Contracting Western Australian Rally Championship  fires up this coming Saturday with the Trade Hire Kin Kin Rally, near Manjimup.

Rally WA chairman Ross Tapper expects 2017 to be another challenging year for both man and machine.

“We’re all firing, ready to go after the break,  and I’m sure competitors are ready to fuel the friendly rivalry and enjoy the camaraderie that the State Championship has become known for,” he said.

“However, events don’t run themselves and ours is no different – it wouldn’t be possible to stage a WA State Rally Championship without our valuable sponsors, all of whom I sincerely thank.

“This is the third year of a five-year naming rights sponsorship agreement with Onslow Contracting, who have shown tremendous support.

“Healthway and Quit are important supporters of Rally WA for many years and we envisage this continuing as we finalise the agreement for 2017.

“Auto One and Verandah Apartments are on board again as gold sponsors, and Network IT and Back Up 4 Me continue to go above and beyond their silver sponsorship as they manage results and provide the associated hardware required.

“Big thanks to competitor Mick Steele who, through Natrad Malaga, has brokered a sponsorship deal to add Natrad to Rally WA’s list of gold sponsors. Further, Natrad supports the Rally WA YouTube videos.

“We also welcome Podium Tyres this year, the MRF tyres agent in WA, and Thornlie Towing who will work with AAAC Towing in vehicle recovery,” he said.

Doug Tostevin is set fire up in again in 2017.

Volunteers the Backbone of RallyWA

Silver sponsors Fineline Print & Copy Service, Sushi Digital, Japline Subaru Servicing and Parts, Wheels on Yirrigan Kumho Tyre and the Morley Tyre Centre continue to service Rally WA competitors.

Ross Tapper heaped praise on the sport’s band of volunteers “who do all manner of tasks from liaising with land owners, to managing refuel zones, sorting uniforms, organising documentation, scrutineering, rally controls, road closures, and spectator marshals.

“My thanks to each and every one of them for all their tireless work and a special mention to those who run each event, donating hundreds of hours of their time to ensure each rally is run smoothly and safely.”
