WA’s NICK ROWE and AARON LOVE take on the iconic Phillip Island circuit on a forecast showery weekend for round four of the 2017 CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship.

CAMS Foundation Rising Star Cameron Shields edged out Nick and Aaron at the series debut at Barbagallo Raceway last up to claim his first race and round win, and jumped to third – behind Nick – in the current standings.
Nick is only four points off championship leader Liam Lawson.    The battle for Burson Auto Parts Rookie of the Year honours is also hotly contested, with Rising Star Ryan Suhle leading by 25 points over round three rookie winner Aaron.

PI’s Turn One the Hot Spot

While the series is now in its third season, Nick Rowe is one of just four drivers have previously sampled the Island, under racing conditions, in an Australian Formula 4 machine.    Aaron Love’s older brother Jordan is the current F4 Drivers champion and was last year’s Phillip Island round winner.     Jordan has stepped up in 2017 to the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge – also featuring at this weekend’s Shannons Nationals.    Turn One traditionally is the overtaking hot spot, with the cars easily flat chat – and at times two-wide – through one of this country’s fastest corners.    The CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship has two practice and one qualifying session Friday, with two races Saturday, and the Sunday morning finale.

Live streaming is available Sunday via the Shannons Nationals and Formula 4 websites.
