Kiwi SEAN SEAMER is CEO-designate of Virgin Australia Supercars, replacing James Warburton as the head of the third ranking sport in the country.
“Very few times in your life do you get the opportunity to combine your passion with your craft,” Seamer said. “For me, this is one of those rare moments. The Supercars team, led by James, has the sport on a fantastic growth trajectory. With innovation in engineering, race formats and international distribution all on the roadmap, it’s a great time to be joining.”
Seamer comes from MediaCom, the global agency he joined in 2002 working across the US, Europe, Asia. He was appointed head honcho in Australia and New Zealand in 2015. Supercars Board Chairman, Archer Capital’s Peter Wiggs called him
an incredibly talented young businessman … with a passion for and deep understanding of the sport.”
Seamer will be at this weekend’s championship grand final – the Coates Hire Newcastle 500. The former Porsche amateur racer will take up his new role early in 2018.
